BYO · Bring your own subscription

Hang your Claude subscription.
Use it free. Earn from the idle hours.

Self-use is $0. The idle window earns commission you can spend or, at 5+ subscriptions, withdraw.

How it works

OAuth once. Self-use stays $0. Idle earns.

Your session always wins. UAN only taps the quota you were going to let evaporate.

Step 01
Connect

OAuth once via Claude. We never see your password.

Step 02
Self-use

When you code on UAN, UAN routes through your BYO first — $0 charged.

Step 03
Idle earns

Flip Contribute on. When your 5-hour window still has quota, UAN taps the rest. You get 25% of every routed user's actual debit.

Where BYO commission lands

Three accounts. One direction of flow.

UAN splits your wallet into three accounts — Balance, Earnings, and Pending. BYO commission always enters through the account your path allows, and never crosses back.

Contribute state
Contribute = off (default)
Lands in No commission
Account is private. Self-use is $0; no one else is ever routed to it.
Contribute = on (BYO user)
Lands in Balance
25% of the routed user's actual debit, real-time. Spendable on UAN only, not withdrawable.
Contribute = on (Provider, 5+)
Lands in Earnings (after upgrade, new charges only)
Same 25%. New commission after upgrade routes through Pending into withdrawable Earnings. Pre-upgrade Balance entries stay in Balance forever.
Hard rule: no backward conversion. Commission earned before upgrade stays in Balance forever. This keeps the economics clean — “farm then cash out” tricks don't work.
Your OAuth credentials

One token. Tightly scoped. Not on your laptop.

Proxying a Claude Max or Pro subscription requires UAN to hold an Anthropic OAuth token on the server side. This is a necessary permission — and a bounded one. The full architecture lives on /privacy-design.

Credential lifecycle
Stored
Server-side encrypted vault. KMS with quarterly key rotation.
CLI caches?
Never. Your laptop has no credential on disk.
Revoke?
Immediate destruction. Not soft-delete. No delayed reclaim.
Contribute toggle

Self-use is $0 forever. Flip Contribute on and earn 25%.

Each BYO account has a single Contribute switch. Off (default): the account is private — your own requests stay $0 and no one else is ever routed to it. On: the idle window joins the fallback pool, and 25% of every routed user's actual debit lands as commission. No slider, no tiers, no penalties.

Where commission lands
BYO (1–4 contributing subs)
Self-use $0 foreverContribute on → 25% of UAN actual revenue → Balance (non-withdrawable)
Provider (5+ contributing subs)
Self-use $0 foreverSame 25%; new commission after upgrade → Earnings (withdrawable from $50)
Auto fallback

When your subscription can't serve, the pool picks up.

Your session continues — no interruption. Fallback usage is charged at your current multiplier from Balance. The statusline tells you which path served the last request.

Trigger · response
5-hour Anthropic window exhausted
UAN falls back to the pool in under 500ms.
OAuth expired or subscription paused
Same. Your session continues from the pool.
Rate-limited by Anthropic
Same. No interruption to your request stream.
Statusline · three states
BYOYour subscription is serving — $0 charged.
BYO↓Your subscription can't serve this request. Pool is handling it at your current multiplier.
BYO✗BYO is fully unavailable. All traffic routes through the pool from Balance.
BYO vs Provider

Two tiers. Same mechanism.

1–4 subscriptions is BYO. Add a fifth and UAN invites you to complete KYC and become a Provider — same routing, withdrawable earnings. Most BYO users don't upgrade. There's no pressure.

BYO FAQ

Seven answers before you connect.

All traffic exits UAN. Your subscription sees one egress, not multiple. UAN's supply team maintains behaviour patterns to reduce detection risk. No guarantee. Revoke anytime.

Connect in 30 seconds. Revoke in one click.

Your idle 20 hours aren't free either — they just don't work for you yet.
